ADMINISTER THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS

In Mark 2:5-12 is the story of the paralytic who was taken by four men and lowered through the roof of the house where Jesus was praying for the sick. The crowd was so big that this was the only way that his friends thought that he could see Jesus. They were not concerned about his sins; they were concerned about him being healed, to be able to walk again. In verse 5-10, “When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, ‘Son, you sins are forgiven you.’ But some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, ‘Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?’ And immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned this within themselves, He said to them, ‘Why do you reason about these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, Take up your bed and walk? But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins.”

What I want to demonstrate is that forgiveness is not an emotional struggle. You and I become the administrators to administer the power of forgiveness so that we can take the kingdom by force.

Jesus said your sins are forgiven, take up your bed and walk. Walking is very important in the Bible. We cannot walk in our old life when our sins are forgiven. We have to take up our bed, in which we have laid, and walk in a new way and in a new direction and power.

In King David’s life is another example of what I mean by forgiveness. The story is found in 2 Samuel 9: 1-12. David struggled like you and I with forgiveness. He always tried to forgive Saul. That is why he never touched Saul or try to take Saul’s life because he knew that he was God’s anointed. Yet, Saul always broke David’s trust. David was actually in the same place that we are because some one always tries to take our trust. How can we deal with that problem and walk in power and reality without being influenced by people who hurt or manipulate or use us. As we honestly look into our lives, all of us have experiences where we have been used. It is easy to say we forgive without releasing people. We know how important it is that “whatever we bind on earth will be bond in heaven.” Heaven does not move earth; earth moves heaven. As I pray; as I accept; as I come before God, I move heaven. Heaven does not move you until you cry out to the Lord. God says, “Draw near to Me and I will draw near to you.” The Lord also says in His Word, “Humble yourself and then the heavens will open to you.” When you and I think we are spiritually in a lofty place, it does not mean we move heaven. I move heaven when I recognize the dust in me and that I accept the power of forgiveness for me, that I can administrate forgiveness to others no matter what I feel inside. It becomes the power of release upon this earth. It is the power for people to change, and to come into a new place and new situation.
In His Love,
